Thank you SO much! Trying to install miniDlna I bricked my NAS and you showed me how to fix it.
If anyone is planning to use an Ubuntu LiveCD please remember to:
a) Download the firmware to an external drive (first download .deb file from WD and then use LiveCD to extract .img that is about 2Gb) since there is no space to host the file without external drive.
b) install mdadm and curl packages with "apt-get install <mdadm/curl> before running the script
c) assign root password with "sudo passwd root"
d) login as root (or "su root") before running the script.
